Step 1 - Gisearch Duty Station Search - You'll need to know where someone served to use this feature. Click here to learn how to locate a current or prior service member, a service member's spouse or dependent.

Step 2 - Advanced Name Search - If you know a military service member's name but not where they served then the advanced name search is your best choice. Click here to learn how to use it to your biggest advantage.

Step 3 - Lost and Found - Struck out with the Duty Station adn Advanced Searches? Then posting a Lost and Found is a good choice. It's great for posting a classified message for someone you are looking for. It's also free and our lost and founds randomly show up on every page in our website. Click here to get started.

Step 4 - Branch Locator - Could they still be in the service? If so try the nearly free military locator for their branch. Using military locators are usually the quickest way to find someone still in the military. Click here for more information.

Step 5 - Check the phone book - Sometimes it's easy to find someone. If your service member, spouse or dependant has an uncommon name and you have an idea where they might be, then a phone number search is a great idea. Step 6 - Pay for a search - Sometimes the only way to find someone is through an inexpensive name search. Click here for several services we highly recommend.

Step 7 - Get a book - We have found that the book How to Locate Anyone Who Is or Has Been in the military has loads of great information and tips on how to find someone who has served our company. Step 8 - Try other services - Know a persons high school or other useful information? Then you might want to try some of the other websites that service other groups. Click here to get started.

Step 9 - Try a SSN Death Index search - Tried everything else to find a person and haven't had any luck. Then a Social Security Death Index might be the only way to know for sure what has happened to your friend your loved.
